Design Thinking + AI Workshop: June 18th and July 2nd
Come play, experiment, and future-proof your design job
Update: we’ve got new in-person (San Francisco) and remote workshops coming in August, head over here for early access.
Hi everyone!
Our first Design Thinking + AI workshop sold out fast (within an hour!). It was definitely a prototype, and thanks for those of you who participated and helped us make it better.
We made some changes based on what we learned from our first session, and ran a second session this past week. We got great feedback on this version, so have opened up two new sessions. See below for details.
Testimonials
I had the chance to participate in the second session of the "AI+Design Thinking" workshop. Eli and Bobby did an amazing job hosting, which left a lasting impression on me. It was great to listen and engage with a diverse group of design professionals share their experiences and to undergo the complete design thinking process with the integration of various GenAI tools.
AI is here to stay and if you're looking to implement it into your workflow or just want to learn more about the subject, this workshop is a great starting point.
Robin Staley, UX Designer II, LexisNexis
As a UX/Product Researcher, I attended the AI workshop with some basic understanding of Generative AI, mainly around ChatGPT, but ultimately understanding how bitty my knowledge was. I also had reservations about the ethics of using these tools professionally that I was hoping to clarify.
The highly interactive and practical aspects of the workshop were invaluable. Sharing experiences with professionals from diverse HCD backgrounds enriched my learning experience. We went through the entire HCD design process, from the ideation to coming up with a draft output, using various GenAI tools along the way. Everyone shared their experiences and we all ultimately experimented together.
My goal for the workshop was to understand which stages of the design process I could effectively leverage GenAI tools in and which ones were no-go areas. The workshop gave me a good rough overview of it all. And the diverse group's shared experiences highlighted the gaps in my AI knowledge and motivated me to learn more.
I'm grateful for this workshop as it allayed my fears of being replaced by AI tools as a researcher. It showcased their potential applications while highlighting the importance of a human being in the drivers seat. I feel like a big internal fear block has now been removed and I now feel empowered to explore GenAI tools further, with a renewed sense of confidence.
