As a UX/Product Researcher, I attended the AI workshop with some basic understanding of Generative AI, mainly around ChatGPT, but ultimately understanding how bitty my knowledge was. I also had reservations about the ethics of using these tools professionally that I was hoping to clarify.

The highly interactive and practical aspects of the workshop were invaluable. Sharing experiences with professionals from diverse HCD backgrounds enriched my learning experience. We went through the entire HCD design process, from the ideation to coming up with a draft output, using various GenAI tools along the way. Everyone shared their experiences and we all ultimately experimented together.

My goal for the workshop was to understand which stages of the design process I could effectively leverage GenAI tools in and which ones were no-go areas. The workshop gave me a good rough overview of it all. And the diverse group's shared experiences highlighted the gaps in my AI knowledge and motivated me to learn more.

I'm grateful for this workshop as it allayed my fears of being replaced by AI tools as a researcher. It showcased their potential applications while highlighting the importance of a human being in the drivers seat. I feel like a big internal fear block has now been removed and I now feel empowered to explore GenAI tools further, with a renewed sense of confidence.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
